There were rumors that a civil war might start and there was a great need to have the gospel available through Bibles, Christian books and Sunday School material. The Benners knew in their hearts that that was the Lord opening the door of where He wanted to use them on the mission field. |

It will have areas of general consultations, dental and gynecology-obstetrics, and places for treatments such as inoculations, waiting rooms, rehydrations, respiratory therapy. The Medical Center will have a laboratory, pharmac, storage rooms, sterilization, and room for multiple uses. Another area that is included will be those general service like: bathrooms and offices of inspection and sanation, a general warehouse, filter system, and a laundry room. Daily in this Medical Center, they expect between 40 and 45 patients with the modern system they expect it to give a mediate result for emergencies. The cost of the Shalom Family Medical Center will be about a millon dollars, and will be constructed by AMILAT of El Salvador, and equipped by Virginia College Osteopathic Medicine, and operated by the Evangelical University of El Salvador. The proyect will benefit around 32 thousand citizens living mostly in the cities of Santiago, Santo Tomas and San Mrcos. The work will begin at the end of January 2010, and will continue for 16 months from that date. The Shalom Famlily Medical Center will occupy and area of 904.16 (1/3 acres) of the 1,395,182 (1/3 acres) of land owned y AMILAT. Personal attention and more privacy is what the patients will experience. It will have state of the art, medical equipment, and consultation by doctors very well trained. The Medical Center will have the capacity to take care of a diversity of patients even if they can´t afford it.
